Snowbirds to fly over the Forks Saturday

Saturday’s forecast calls for some clouds, a high of 19 C and 100 per cent of snowbirds.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the famous air demonstration team, will perform a 30-minute show above The Forks at 3 p.m. Choreographed to music, the performance will feature many different manoeuvers and graceful nine-plan formations.
"This is an exciting addition to an already packed weekend of activities," said Paul Jordan, chief operating officer of The Forks. "The Canadian Forces Snowbirds really set the stage for an exciting weekend of music, martial arts demonstrations and fireworks, which are all part of the Asian Canadian Festival which takes place on the Sunday and Monday of the long weekend."
During the 2012 show season, the Snowbirds will perform in nearly 60 air shows in about 40 different locations.
