St. Amant building cottage for people with developmental disabilities
The St. Amant Centre broke ground today on a $1 million three-bedroom cottage for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
"It will be truly very accessible," CEO and president John Leggat said.
"They’ll be able to come and stay overnight," he said. "It is a cottage experience."
The cottage should be open next fall. Set in woods along the Red River, it is next to an outdoor pool and will have a fire pit.
The Hans Kraus family and Qualico have donated half the cost, Leggat said.
