St. Boniface Hospital affected by brown water

Winnipeg’s continuing brown water problem has reached the St. Boniface Hospital pipes, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority confirmed today.

The WRHA says the facility has been experiencing brown water in different areas of the hospital since the spring, depending on the amount of water flow needed.

St. Boniface Hospital’s property manager and the city have been working to correct the problem, the statement adds.

The WRHA Public Health, in consultation with Manitoba’s Office of Drinking Water, reiterates while there is no evidence that consuming the brown water could result in a health risk, they advise against drinking it.
