St. Boniface picks Glover over Simard again

  • Print

Tory MP Shelly Glover squashed the Liberal's bid to recapture St. Boniface and coasted to victory over challenger Ray Simard for the second time.

Glover's campaign staff announced the win moments ago. With 74 polls in, Glover was ahead of Simard by 2,863 votes.

The Conservative MP hugged supporters at her St. Boniface headquarters where hundreds of people watched results come in tonight.

Glover credited her supporters for the win and called it a "historic moment" in St. Boniface.

"A Conservative has never, ever been re-elected in this riding," she told a jubilant crowd.
