  • Print

A 19-year-old man died Tuesday from stabbing wounds he received earlier this month, and a female youth has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Jesse Cole Wapash was assaulted on June 14 and had been hospitalized since. His death is the 10th homicide in Winnipeg in 2013.

Police say he was stabbed during an altercation with someone he knew at a residence in the 500 block of Home Street.

The suspect was first charged with aggravated assault, but the charged was upgraded. She is in custody at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
