Manitoba’s largest credit union continues to bulk up.
Steinbach Credit Union, which has two branches in Winnipeg and one in Steinbach, saw the value of its assets surpass the $3.96-billion mark in 2012, its annual meeting was told today.
Membership also surpassed the 77,000 threshold.
"Our prudent, even-handed approach is the key to continued sustainable growth and reflects the loyalty and the level of trust our members have with us," said board president Ted Falk.
"With only three branches, SCU runs a very efficient business model that enables us to offer the market very competitive rates," said CEO Glenn Friesen. "We offer local decision-making by a staff that knows the local market, and in the process have built a sense of community that’s resulted in member service levels that are virtually unseen anywhere else in the financial industry."
