Steinbach man charged after shots fired at outdoor party

A Steinbach man has been charged after a rifle was fired into the air early July 14 at an outdoor house party near Blumenort.

Two men went to the house party where one of them got into an argument with a woman. He then took a rifle from the house, fired two shots into the air, and chased party-goers off the property. The other man waited outside in a truck, Steinbach RCMP said.

The two men fled the scene shortly after in a vehicle.

 No one was injured.

Jordan Wall of Steinbach has been charged with:  careless use of a firearm, eight counts of pointing a firearm, eight counts of utter threats, unlawful possession of a firearm, break, enter and theft and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

RCMP said the matter is still under investigation and charges are pending against a second man.
