Chilly day settles in after storm moves out

Wet snow from Thursday’s autumn storm will peter out today, but it’ll be a bit before usual fall weather returns to Winnipeg and southern Manitoba.

Environment Canada’s forecast says the wet snow should end late this afternoon, but a 40 km/h north wind that gusts to 60 km/h will persist. The high will creep up to 3 C and tonight’s low should drop to -4 C.

It’s expected to clear Saturday and warm up to 8 C with a westerly wind at 20 km/h.

Temperatures will continue to rise Sunday, reaching 10 C with a mix of sun and cloud, the forecast says.

Clouds and showers, or at least a 60 per cent chance of them, are in Monday’s forecast with a high of 8 C.
