WINNIPEG — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Winnipeg. There is the possibility of large hail and damaging winds, the weather office said
Environment Canada issued numerous warnings and watches throughout southern and eastern Manitoba Thursday afternoon.
Poplar River, Berens River, Little Grand Rapids, Bloodvein, Atikaki are expected to be drenched with heavy rain falls, with totals of 50 to 75 mm by tonight.
Environment Canada also extended a severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for areas including the Whiteshell, Lac Du Bonnet, Pinawa, Bissett, Nopiming Provincial Park and Pine Falls. There is the possibility of large hail and damaging winds.
Heavy rainfall is also occurring in central Manitoba, where over 40 mm have fallen with another 20 mm expected by evening.
