Struthers apologizes for Jets ticket

Finance Minister Stan Struthers apologized to MLAs today for inadvertantly misleading the provincial legislature on free Jets tickets.
Struthers apologized for neglecting to say he obtained a single free ticket from Red River College for the Dec. 23 home game of the Winnipeg Jets versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Struthers told a budget estimates meeting May 9 he had attended three Jets games last season, paid out of his pocket.
The Jets ticket affair is now into its second week with the NDP on the defensive, despite Premier Greg Selinger's ban last week on his MLAs from accepting tickets to all sporting events, even if they pay for them.
Selinger has also said the province's ethics commissioner will draft a ticket policy to cover Opposition MLAs as well.
