Brandon student charged for swearing in school

  • Print

17-year-old Manitoba boy has been arrested for a rarely used criminal offence after going on a verbal tirade inside a Brandon high school Monday.

The teen, who lives in nearby Shilo, is accused of "causing a disturbance by swearing" inside Crocus Plains Regional Secondary.

Typically this type of charge is laid only in cases where there are threats or property damage.

A school resource officer posted inside the building quickly intervened. The alleged potty-mouthed teen has been released on a promise to appear in court later this spring.
