WINNIPEG - It’s going to be the first hot day in ages and, of course, it’s a Monday.
Oh well, even if we have five days to go before the weekend, Winnipeggers should be outside in droves to soak up the sunshine which Environment Canada says will push the afternoon temperature to a high of 27 C.
A few fog patches were predicted for first thing this morning and but those should burn off quickly. A few clouds will move in and they will provide some relief for those who find it too strange to absorb all that hot sun at once.
Even still, the UV index this afternoon is expected to reach 8 or "very high."
Skies will clear early this evening and tonight the temperature will drop to 15 C.
On Tuesday the sun is expected to be out in its full glory, with winds from the southwest at 30 km/h in the morning. A high of 31 C is the call for Tuesday.
The rest of the week is just as nice: sunny skies with a few clouds, lows in the mid-teens with highs in the mid-to high 20s.
Let’s just hope it lasts until the weekend.
