A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a stabbing on Flora Avenue early Sunday morning.

The altercation occurred around 1:55 a.m. and was witnessed by patrolling police officers, who saw two men fighting on the street near the 300 block of Flora. One of the males fled on foot and was later apprehended on Selkirk Avenue. The male who remained at the scene was treated by paramedics for stab wounds. The victim was transported to hospital and remains in stable condition.

A police investigation determined an argument began at a party at the residence and escalated when a 21-year-old male assaulted two females. A 39-year-old man intervened, and the fight ensued.

The 21-year-old, Steven Pangman, has also been charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of assault.
