Sunday's ball game will have new fans in the seats

B’nai Brith will be taking more than 1,250 people out to the ball game on Sunday.

B’nai Brith’s fourth annual afternoon with the Goldeyes will see 1,250 people from 36 community service organizations — including CancerCare Manitoba, Main Street Project, Meals on Wheels, Special Olympics, and Jocelyn House — watch the Goldeyes take on the St. Paul Saints.

The project’s founder, Earl Barish, chairman of B’nai Brith Canada, said in a statement that "it’s a very simple program, but a very well received one.

"It is that wonderful feeling type of program in the community."

Barish said many of the people who will be going to the game will be seeing a baseball game for the first time.

Barish said the tickets are purchased with the help of sponsors and then donated to the agencies.
