Suspect sought after woman assaulted on Plessis

Winnipeg police are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted near Plessis Road.

Police said today the 50-year-old woman was walking Wednesday at 9:50 p.m. near the 900 block of Plessis when she was grabbed from behind by a man.

The man tried to hold the woman but she was able to break free and get away.

The woman was injured but didn't need to go to a hospital.

The man is described as 5-10 to six feet tall, medium build and wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police sex crimes unit at 204-986-6245 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
