If only other services providers had the same billing procedure as the Winnipeg Tarot Company.
Its "employees," local performance artists, Lorri Millan and Shawna Dempsey, will kick off what they promise will be five weeks of readings at The Forks today.
They also plan to travel throughout the city from Sept. 25 to Oct. 31 giving Winnipeggers at a wide range of locations — everything from restaurants to seniors homes to tourist destinations — a glimpse of their futures.
Their new design of tarot cards uses original artwork and Winnipeg iconography and it’s their way of celebrating the city’s "Cultural Capital of Canada 2010" program.
In return for a reading, "payment" will be the sharing of a customer’s own Winnipeg story, inspired by the cards or otherwise.
The stories will be recorded and archived at the Winnipeg Arts Council. A schedule and more information can be found at www.artsforall.ca.
