Teen arrested in Pukatawagan assault

Pukatawagan RCMP have arrested a 17-year-olld girl in connection with a serious assault on a 59-year-old woman last Friday.

RCMP Sgt. Rob Lockhart said that on Friday shortly before 4:30 a.m., Pukatawagan RCMP responded to a serious assault in the community. A woman was discovered lying in the snow outside of a local business. She had been badly beaten and was suffering from severe trauma to her face and head.

The victim, a 59-year-old resident of Pukatawagan, was transported to Winnipeg, where she has been upgraded to stable condition.

Police continue to investigate.
