Teen hit by truck New Year's Eve dies

The 18-year-old female who was struck by a truck in Reinfeld, Man. on New Year's Eve has died.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a collision between a 1997 Toyota Tacoma and three pedestrians. Carman RCMP say the southbound truck on Reinfeld Street South struck a male and two females walking on the roadway.

One of the females was rushed to Winnipeg in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries late Wednesday evening.

The two other victims were treated at Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler. The 16-year-old driver of the truck is from the Winkler area. He was not injured.

The investigation continues. No further information is available at this time.
