Teen injured in Maryland shooting

Police responded to a shooting incident at approximately 7:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Maryland Street.

A 15-year-old male was injured. He was shot in the lower body and fled the scene, and is now listed in stable condition.

Police are investigating whether the shooting is gang related.

"We are going to be looking into that possibility because there is some indication, but that is something we have yet to confirm," said Const. Jason Michalyshen.

Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call the Division 13 Crime Unit at 204-986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-8477.
