A teenager escaped with only minor injuries after the vehicle she was driving struck a Via Rail passenger train near Gilbert Plains on Monday afternoon.
A Via spokeswoman said no one was injured on the train, which was en route from Churchill to Winnipeg.
About 20 passengers were given a bus ride from Dauphin to Winnipeg.
RCMP say a 2009 Colbalt was southbound on Hwy. 274 when it collided with the side of an eastbound train, near the locomotive, at a level crossing.
The crossing is reported to be equipped with crossing signs and flashing lights.
The driver, a 17-year-old girl from the Gilbert Plains area, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. She was the only person in the car.
