Temperatures to drop today

Winnipeg isn’t getting any warmer today.

Environment Canada says the sun will come out this morning and the temperature will fall to -17 Celsius by this afternoon.

At 9 a.m., it was -15 C but felt like -22 thanks to a northwest wind. Tonight, it should feel like -27 C.

On Sunday, periods of snow are expected with a high of -11 C. New Year’s Eve, the daytime high is expected to hit -20 C.

On the first day of 2013, there’s a 60 per cent chance of flurries with a high of -14 C forecast.
