Police are searching for suspects who allegedly stole the presents from under an 80-year-old Winnipeg woman’s Christmas tree.

The woman came up from the basement of her Greensboro Square home around 11 a.m. Friday to find two men she didn’t know standing in her living room, Winnipeg police said in a press release Saturday.

The two men ran from the living room and out the front door, knocking the woman down as they fled. The woman was not injured, the release said.

The suspects left in a waiting blue- or green-coloured SUV driven by another suspect, whose gender is unknown.

The suspects allegedly took, among other things, the presents the woman had for her family under her Christmas tree, the release said.

One of the two suspects is described as Asian with light-brown skin, medium-length brown hair and a moustache. He was wearing a brown winter parka with fur on the hood. There is no description of the second man who had been in the woman’s living room or driver of the getaway vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West District Crime Unit at 204-986-2877 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
