Three arrested in home burglaries

  • Print

Police have arrested three men in a series of home break-ins over the past week in Winnipeg and Selkirk.

On April 25, neighbours on a Winnipeg street spotted a strange car in their neighbour's driveway and called police.

Const. Jason Michalyshen said the break came following a call from a neighbour.

"That's neighbours looking after each other and that's fantastic," the police spokesman said.

The car parked in the driveway of a house in the 100 block of Stanford Bay turned out to be a 2013 Ford Escape that was reported stolen five days earlier at a home break-in in Selkirk.

That break-in was followed by three others in the Tuxedo and Linden Woods neighbourhoods.

Suspects made off with electronics, cash, clothing and alcohol from the weeklong crime spree.

Gerald Duck, 25, Andrew Shannacappo 25, and Jonas Sabisyon, 18, face charges and remain in custody.
