Men armed with bear spray commit three robberies in St. Vital

WINNIPEG--Men  armed with bear spray committed three robberies within the space of about an hour on Monday, with one victim ending up in hospital, police said today.
About 12:25 p.m.  three male teens were robbed by two males near St. Vital Memorial Park.
About half-an-hour later, two men went up to two 15-year-old boys at Dakota Street and Chesterfield Avenue and  took property after threatening and pointing the bear spray at them. No one was injured and the pair fled in a vehicle.
At 1:30 p.m., two men went up to a 26-year-old man waiting for a bus in the 400 block of St. Anne’s Road and sprayed him with bear spray after telling him to drop his property. The robbers ran off without the property when the man fled to a nearby business.
The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The men, believed to be responsible for all three incidents, are described as follows: The first robber is described as Caucasian with a darker complexion, in his 20s, 5-7 to 5-8, skinny with short, dark hair, goatee/facial hair, and wearing a white baseball cap and dark pants and hoodie.
The second robber  is Caucasian, late teens, medium to larger build, about six-feet tall, and wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap with white stripes and dark clothing and hoodie.
Witnesses said the bear spray can had a large black handle and the vehicle, a SUV, was cream-gold in colour, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information to call police at 986-2857 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
