Three suspects sought after downtown stabbing

Police are looking for three suspects after a man was stabbed Sunday night downtown.

The victim, 19, was stabbed in the upper body and taken to hospital in critical condition following a verbal altercation with three men while travelling on a city bus Sunday evening.

Police said when the four men got off the bus at about 9:10 p.m. near Portage Avenue and Garry Street, a physical confrontation took place and the 19-year-old man was stabbed.The three suspects fled the area.

Police are looking for a Caucasian man, 5-8 to 5-9, about 150 lbs, clean shaven and carrying a knife, an aboriginal man, about 5-8 and 140 lbs and clean shaven. There is no description of the third suspect.
