Tickets for Moose playoff game selling fast

WINNIPEG--Want to be in the crowd for Saturday's Game 1 of the Calder Cup final at MTS Centre between the Manitoba Moose and Hershey Bears?

You better move fast.

The Moose sold over 1,000 tickets immediately following Monday's Western Conference title win over the Houston Aeros and as of noon on Tuesday had already pushed 7,400 tickets for Saturday's game out the door.

Moose director of communications Scott Brown says the hockey club is expecting a big number for Saturday.

"Our expectations are to be sold out for Saturday night. That's our hope and our expecations from our fans," said Brown. "This is a championship final of the highest level of hockey in this city. It's the first pro final this city has been involved in in 30 years. We're excited and we want our fans to share in the excitement. We expect a sellout."

A sellout for hockey at the MTS Centre is 15,015.

The Moose lead the AHL in playoff attendance with an average of 8,919 through eight home openings.
