Ghostbusters will play at The Forks tonight

You can't beat the heat but you can revel in it by taking in an outdoor movie tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight, there's a free showing of movie Ghostbusters at The Forks at the Scotiabank stage and tomorrow, it's a free showing of the Mystery Movie by Garden City mall.

At both locations, attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on while watching the movies.

Dusk is the suggested start time for both but arriving early is advised.

At The Forks, the first 500 entrants will receive complimentary popcorn and water. Those with Scotiabank SCENE movie cards can collect SCENE points.

At Garden City, the "Mystery Movie" was chosen by votes from the patrons of the mall and will be a "PG-rated fearsomely funny flick for free." Could it be Hotel Transylvania? You can find out by coming out.

The movie will be shown on a giant outdoor inflatable screen, rain or shine, next door to the mall on the neighbouring green space at Garden City Community Centre. A concession is expected to be available.
