Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford endured insults from fans, but stayed to see his beloved Toronto Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Winnipeg's Investors Group Field Friday.
Ford, who said he was on a three-day vacation, watched Friday's game from the sidelines near the Argos bench with a staff member at his side.
"The stadium is beautiful, the people are the most friendly people I've ever met," said Ford. "This is has been a real, real pleasure coming here."
Back in Toronto there is still controversy surrounding the Mayor and his denial of the existence of a video purported to show him smoking crack.
Throughout the game he laughed and even waved as fans booed or chanted "crack" from the stands. Some reached for high-fives.
Ford had the last laugh, as the Bombers were pummelled by the Argos 35-19.
After his stop in Winnipeg, Ford will head to Saskatchewan to watch the Hamilton Tiger-Cats take on the Roughriders Sunday.
