Tour to address health, employment for off-reserve aboriginal peoples

The vice-chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples is touring Western Canada next week to address issues such as health and employment opportunities for off-reserve Aboriginal peoples.
Dwight Dorey, national vice-chief, will be meeting with stakeholders to discuss more services for health, fighting violence against women, employment opportunities and education for Aboriginal peoples living off-reserve.
Dorey will also meet with government officials, community organizations and private sector enterprises to talk about economic development opportunities for off-reserve Aboriginal peoples.
He will begin his tour in Winnipeg on Monday and work his way to Edmonton, Yellowknife and Calgary, finally finishing up in Vancouver on Friday.
The Congress for Aboriginal Peoples represents non-status and status Indian and Métis Aboriginal peoples living off-reserve.
