Transit driver charged after passenger injured

A Winnipeg Transit driver has been arrested after an 84-year-old male passenger was injured as he got off the bus.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon of Dec. 20 in the eastbound lane of Chief Peguis Trail just west of Henderson Highway. The passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains nearly a month later.

The 42-year-old driver has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
