Trio nabbed by RCMP after escape from Aggasiz

Three young offenders who scaled a fence in a jail break Sunday evening face charges today in Portage la Prairie.

Just after 7 p.m. on Sunday, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report three inmates escaped from Agassiz Youth Center in Portage.

An investigation revealed the three climbed the fence of the facility and fled. Police responded and caught one inmate near the centre. The other two were found at a residence on Lorne Avenue in Portage la Prairie and were arrested without incident.

All three youth are in custody and facing charges.
