Two charged after $500K worth of marijuana plants seized
More than half a million dollars' worth of marijuana plants have been seized by Winnipeg police.
Police said today officers in the department’s drug unit, tactical support team, and vice unit executed search warrants at a commercial building in the 400 block of Brooklyn Street and a residence in the 800 block of Borebank Street on Wednesday at about 8:15 a.m.
Police found 464 marijuana plants, with an estimated street value of $519,680, and $15,000 worth of grow-operation equipment inside the commercial building.
Two people inside were also arrested by police.
Inside the house, police found a 12-gauge shotgun, .300 and 30.06 calibre rifles, and ammunition. No one was in the house at the time.
