Two charged after allegedly assaulting man, stealing his beer

A 61-year-old man carrying beer he'd just bought at an Elmwood vendor was followed, assaulted and robbed of his purchase early Saturday morning.

Luckily the police were nearby on an unrelated manner.

Police quickly nabbed the two suspects in the vicinity of William Newton Avenue.

Rendall Francis, 22, is charged with robbery with violence and breach of probation. He was detained.

A 28-year-old male also faces a charge of robbery with violence and was released.
