  • Print

Two people are in custody after a woman was stabbed late Wednesday on Aikins Street, police said.

The 20-year-old woman was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but her condition has  been upgraded to stable.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a house party in the 300 block of Aikins Street just before midnight, where they found the woman with multiple injuries.

The victim had become involved in an argument with a  woman, which led to an assault. A man also assaulted the victim, WPS spokesman Const. Eric Hofley said.

The attackers left the residence but returned a short time later and the woman assaulted the victim with a weapon.

Hofley said her wounds were consistent with a stabbing or puncture, but he would not say what type of weapon was used.

Lori Nadine Sinclair, 26, has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and two counts of probation breaches.

The 23-year-old man, from rural Manitoba, is facing charges of assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and three counts of probation breaches.
