Two charged after woman taken off city street and sexually assaulted
A woman was walking to a store in the area of Burrows Avenue and Charles Street at 7 a.m. on Dec. 1 when she was forced into a vehicle by two unknown males.
The 27-year-old woman was taken to a suite in the city and sexually assault by the males. The victim attempted to flee the residence, but was unsuccessful.
One of the males then drove the victim to the area of Lorette, Manitoba where a sexual assault occurred in the vehicle. The victim was able to flee and make her way to a nearby business where police were called.
Officers executed a search warrant on Dec. 2 at a residence in the Jefferson Avenue area and arrested a 35-year-old man.
On Dec. 3 officers arrested a second male suspect in the area of the 1400 block of Ross Avenue.
Michael Douglas Hardy, 35, has been charged with kidnapping and sexual sssault.
Darcy Trevor Stirling, 32, has been charged with: kidnapping, sexual assault and theft over $5,000.
Both males were detained.
