Two charged in beer vendor robbery

Winnipeg police have arrested a pair of suspects in an armed robbery case from last spring.

Officers were called to a beer vendor in the 2000 block of Main Street on April 11 around 11:30 p.m. after a 51-year-old male employee was assaulted during a robbery. A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman allegedly stole beer and cash before fleeing the area.

As a result of an investigation by the Major Crimes Unit with assistance from RCMP officers in Treherne, the two suspects were identified and placed under arrest. They have been charged with robbery with violence and breach of probation.
