Two facing murder charges after slaying on Pauingassi

Two men at Pauingassi First Nation have been charged with murder in connection with the slaying of a 27-year-old man.

Little Grand Rapids RCMP said today Rodney Suggashie, 22, and 24-year-old Jamie Suggashie have been charged with second-degree murder.

RCMP said Neilson Garnett Owens was rushed to the reserve’s nursing station where he died after being found unresponsive in a residence on Dec. 24, just after 5 a.m.

The two men have been remanded into custody and will appear in court today in Winnipeg.
