  • Print

RCMP are investigating the homicide of an unidentified man on Pauingassi First Nation.

Two young people have been arrested but not yet charged, RCMP Sgt. Line Karpish said today.

The three knew each other, Karpish said.

RCMP were called to a disturbance at a home around 8 a.m. Tuesday, and found the victim outside. An autopsy is scheduled in Winnipeg today.

"The name of the deceased is not being released at this time. It is believed that the young persons arrested and the deceased knew each other. All are residents of Pauingassi First Nation," Karpish said.

The RCMP Little Grand Rapids along with assistance from RCMP Major Crime Services, the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and additional resources from the RCMP East District continue to investigate.

Pauingassi is a community of about 500 people located 280 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg.
