Two in hospital after highway crash near Patricia Beach

A collision late Thursday morning on Highway 59 near Patricia Beach sent two people to hospital. The crash occurred between Patricia Beach and Stead Road just before 10:30 a.m., the RCMP said in a news release.

A pickup truck was southbound on Hwy. 59 when it collided with a northbound semi hauling a large trailer. A man in the pickup was transported by STARS air ambulance and a woman was transported by ground ambulance to hospital, neither with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The collision is still under investigation.
