A car accident near The Pas has left two people dead today.
The head-on crash happened at approximately 10:30 a.m., just south of The Pas on Hwy. 10.
One car was driving northbound and the other southbound when they collided. A 55-year-old male passenger in the southbound vehicle and a 49-year-old female passenger in the northbound vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger in the southbound car, a 56-year-old female, was taken to hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
There were a total of four people in the northbound car and three in the southbound vehicle. The remaining people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
RCMP are investigating and alcohol is not considered a factor.
RCMP say they the names of the deceased will not be released.
The highway is still blocked and a detour is in place and RCMP warn motorists to expect big delays.
