  • Print

A man and a teen have been arrested after two women were stabbed and robbed on Boyd Avenue Friday morning.

Two women, aged 46 and 49, were walking along Boyd Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when they were confronted by two males demanding their property, Winnipeg police say. The victims were pushed to the ground and stabbed before being robbed, according to police.

The 49-year-old was transported to the hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable. The 46-year-old sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The two suspects fled on foot but were tracked down by police shortly afterwards.

Both suspects — aged 24 and 17 — are currently in custody and have been charged with a variety of offences, including robbery with a weapon, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
