University of Winnipeg professors will go on strike one minute after midnight on Monday, Feb. 24, unless they have a new contract by that time.
The first faculty strike in U of W history would come on the first day of classes after reading week. They approved a strike vote by 92 per cent earlier this week.
The professors have been without a contract since last March 31, and are trying to move towards parity with other Manitoba professors. Neither side has revealed its position on money.
Mediation begins Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday. The U of W Faculty Association says it will not speak to the media until mediation concludes.
