Lloyd Axworthy’s time with the University of Winnipeg is running out.

A member of the university’s board of regents confirmed Axworthy told the board at its meeting Monday night he will not seek a third term as president and vice-chancellor of the U of W.

Axworthy’s current five-year term expires June 2014.

The board was told a search committee would be struck within days to begin a search for Axworthy’s replacement.
