VanDeynze named player of the week

Forward Chelsea VanDeynze of the Pembina Valley Hawks has been named the Selkirk Keystone Source for Sports-Reebok player of the week in the Manitoba (AAA) Female Midget Hockey League after recording five points in two playoff wins last week.

The grade 12 student from Somerset scored a hat trick in the Hawks’ deciding game against the Yellowhead Chiefs.

In the regular season, VanDeynze played in all 58 games for Pembina Valley scoring 18 goals with 30 assists for 48 points.

In the playoffs, VanDeynze has eight points in four games.
