Winnipeg will be warmer but snowy this weekend, and many Manitoba highways are slippery and snow-covered.
Environment Canada is calling for a comfortable high of -4 C today with a 60 per cent chance of flurries this afternoon. Sunday looks much the same, with a high of -11 C.
Recent snow has left many Manitoba highways in less than ideal shape, and Friday night RCMP urged particular caution on Highway 16 from Minnedosa to the TransCanada, Highway 5 between provincial roads 261 and 353 and Highway 50 from Amaranth to Highway 16. Many other routes are seeing swirling or packed snow and slippery sections this morning, according to Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation’s morning road report.
In Winnipeg, snow plowing continues this morning.
