Winnipeg police are advising motorists to expect delays on the south Perimeter Highway this morning.
The local branch of the World's Largest Truck Convoy is rolling out, starting at 11 o’clock. Between 100 and 200 trucks are expected to be in the convoy, which will convene at the Oak Bluff Recreation Centre on Highway No. 3.
From there, the big rigs are scheduled to crawl onto the Perimeter Highway and head south.
It’s expected the convoy will last one hour. Police are warning of the possibility of minor traffic holdups along this route.
The World’s Largest Truck Convoy is expected to unite more than 1,000 truckers across North America. Last year, the event raised more than $525,000 for Special Olympics.
