A 59-year-old Winnipeg man was killed Thursday night when the car he was driving collided with a semi-truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Elie.

The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m.

A 54-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was also hurt but is listed in stable condition in a Winnipeg hospital.

The 47-year-old male driver of the semi from Tache, Man., wasn't injured

An RCMP traffic reconstructionist is aiding in the investigation. Police believe weather conditions were a contributing factor in this collision.
