Winnipeg police fire at suspect, no injuries reported

A Winnipeg police officer fired his weapon during a confrontation with a break-in suspect in Transcona, but no injuries were reported and an arrest was made.

The incident occurred after police were dispatched to the Manitoba Hydro building in the 400 block of Pandora Avenue West to investigate a report of a break-in in progress.

Several cruisers also responded, along with the police canine unit, and a suspect was tracked to the 800 block of Kernaghan Avenue.

That's where the confrontation took place.

As in all cases of officer-involved shootings, the investigation is being led by the homicide unit, although police reiterated no one was injured.
