Winnipeg’s newest millionaire has been identified.

Mike Herda is the lucky holder of a $1-million ticket from a Lotto Max Maxmillions draw on Mar. 14. Herda bought the ticket from his own lottery outlet, MikMar Ticket Sales, located in the Safeway store at 2 Alpine Avenue in Winnipeg. Because he is a lottery retailer, his winning ticket was subject an additional review before it was green-lighted.

"It’s still sinking in," he said in a release. "I’ll invest some, for sure. And I want to take a long-overdue vacation."

Herda wasn’t the only big winner in Winnipeg in the Mar. 14 draw.

Myron Krywyj picked up $500,000 after he matched his seven numbers in another Lotto Max Maxmillions draw. He split the $1-million prize with another ticket sold in Quebec.

Another winning Maxmillions ticket was sold in Winnipeg, but has not yet been claimed.
