Winnipeg woman dies in two-vehicle collision on Perimeter

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Perimeter Highway near Lagimodiere Boulevard this morning during a snowfall.

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Perimeter Highway near Lagimodiere Boulevard this morning during a snowfall.

A 54-year-old Winnipeg woman died in a two-vehicle collision on the  Perimeter Highway Tuesday morning, RCMP report.

The collision occurred about  7:30 a.m., RCMP said, when a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier driving westbound on the Perimeter, just east of Highway 59, lost control and veered into the path of an oncoming Dodge pick-up.

 The Cavalier’s driver, the  54-year-old Winnipeg woman, was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

 A man driving the Dodge pick-up was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

 Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, but note that road conditions were very icy at the time.
